Registered with the Engineering Council as an Incorporated Engineer, Associate
of The Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers, Fellow of the
Chartered Institute of Plumbing and Heating Engineering.
Following a formal engineering craft apprenticeship, employed as a Heating
and Ventilating Engineer for both Local Authority and private contracting
companies.
Subsequently trained in Building Services Engineering and employed as a Building Services Engineer with City of Stoke–on–Trent Corporate Resources Department. During this tenure responsible for site surveys, feasibility studies and detailed design of mechanical engineering installations on both new build and refurbishment schemes within the authority’s commercial property portfolio.
Relocated to the University of Exeter as Site Mechanical Engineer, Paul was primarily responsible for Building Services installations under the Universities £38 million new build student residences programme. He was also engaged in a supervisory capacity on extensive alteration and refurbishment of existing residencies and academic lecturing/research premises.
Thereafter, employed as a Building Services Engineer with Devon County Council and responsible for designing and supervising new build Building Services schemes on educational buildings, including those on exemplar low energy and environmental projects incorporating aspects such as rainwater recycling, passive ventilation and biomass heating.
